Green Exercise is the New Gym

So you’re out the entire day either busy with college or work and dead tired, that you just come back home and sit in front of the big TV with either a bowl of chips in your hand or even worse, a cheesecake topped with lots of cream because the thought of getting yourself  to the gym  makes you even more exhausted.

Well that’s alright, say Goodbye to the Gym and Hello to Green Exercise fitness!!!

Psychologically speaking , people who stay indoors all the time are more likely to be depressed and  prone to anxiety disorders  and the gym at some point of time could do that to you where as on the other hand, going for a run, climbing a hill, doing some brisk walking, aerobics in a park or just a couple of exercises in the open air makes you so much more fitter.

You may think going to a gym will help you shed off the extra pounds quicker, well yes it might but that’s not going to help you eventually. Outdoor exposure helps to boost mental performance and  it provides a stimulus that you can definitely not achieve by working out at a gym. Another issue with being at the gym is, at times you get carried away with the whole workout that you tend to go overboard which leads to drastic weight loss but at the same time, as age catches up it causes pain in the bones and the muscles won’t be very strong either.

Also remember, once you discontinue the gym or even take a break for a few days, you will put on double of what you had lost earlier.

So start thinking of other options which will help you in the long run like green exercise!!
It gives you feelings of intense happiness which cannot be obtained through any other form of exercise. You learn so much about your surroundings and also become more sociable. It creates some kind of awareness that makes you much smarter too.
You can save all the money you would have to put into the membership of joining a gym and instead  get yourself  those things you’ve always dreamed of having.

So think about it again, and consider giving an hour of your time at the end of the day, and you’ll see the special charm of Green Exercise.

And the Countdown Begins....

It's that time of the year again where every music soul finds their solace and the thrill of yet another fun-filled night, full of glamour and entertainment.
 Yes! Yes! Yes!
It’s that night where we celebrate music from every genre and appreciate all those who keep us hooked on to our i-pods and mp 3s all year long.

Music’s biggest night indeed,  The Grammy’s 2014!!!

The Grammy was originally called a gramophone award. It is an award by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences of the United States to recognize outstanding achievement in the music industry and has been running for the past 52 years now. It’s truly interesting how far its reached since then!

This year it’s going to be BIGGER than ever. The stage is all set and the red carpet looks dashing. The various celebrities are going to rock the stage and it’s something you just would not want to miss.

Everyone have already started making their predictions on whose going to bag which award and there is so much of betting involved too.
This year there have also been quite a number of new awards added into the usual list. They include a new category for Best American Roots which is a songwriter's award, which will encompass all the subgenres in this field such as Americana, bluegrass, blues, folk and regional roots music. The Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance category will be renamed Best Metal Performance and becomes a stand-alone category. Hard rock performances will now be screened in the Best Rock Performance category. The Music Video field will become the Best Music Video/Film field. Its two categories will be renamed: Best Short Form Music Video will now be known as Best Music Video and Best Long Form Music Video will change into Best Music Film.

Apart from that, Carole King was honored as MusiCares Person of the Year , two days prior to the awards. Jay-Z has received the most nominations with nine and Pharrell Williams is nominated twice for both Album of the Year and Record of the Year.

The performances of the evening have said to be mind-blowing and include BeyoncĂ©, Jay-Z, Queens of the Stone Age, Imagine Dragons, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, John Legend and Keith Urban, Lorde  Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr,  a few to mention.

Grammy in the schools was another great initiative taken forward which gives young aspiring musicians in the US, the opportunity to have careers in the industry by being part of their various programs.

It is something every music enthusiast dies to do as they only  breathe, eat and drink music and get financial assistance too.

Another interesting feature seen at the Grammys is how well each one dress up and who makes the best appearance.

The Grammys may not be given as much importance as the Oscars or the  Emmys for that matter but there is no other platform where you will witness the most authentic and enthralling performances. You’ll find duets by people from various genres and ages and their humility is just breath taking. It is a mix of talent that just leaves us wonderstruck.

It is definitely most unpredictable and full of surprises and cannot leave you bored for even a second in those three and a half hours.

So if you want to see how right your predictions are, don’t forget to tune into Channel VH1 on Monday, January 27, 2014 at 6:30 am with a prime time repeat at 9 pm and the Red Carpet at 7 pm. You will surely not regret it!

The Man Come From Nowhere

These past few days, there has only been one name flashing on all our television screens, a man of great ambition wanting a Better India, the second Gandhi-  Arvind Kejriwal!
But from where has he come?

He is perceived as someone new, dynamic and unconventional. The whole nation has seem to put their trust in him but the biggest question yet to be answered is whether he will be able to prove himself worthy enough to them.
As far as his education is concerned, he completed his mechanical engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur and then he worked for Tata Steel and went on to join the Indian Revenue Service after qualifying through the Civil Services Examination.  After a few years, he left the government services and from nowhere came into politics with the whole Anna Hazare episode.

He seems to have some huge ideas and great scope for improvement but how well is he going to implement and execute them will show his actual agenda in politics.

He has just become the Chief Minister of Delhi and the state is already falling apart. He is taking all kinds of measures disapproved by a large section of people in the state. His so called “dharna” had created immense havoc and confusion among the people. He believes to save the female circle from all kinds of atrocities they face but is this the right way to go about with it?
The main reason for him joining politics was to fight against corruption but this is more of an anarchy form of government he has created. In that case, where does democracy play its role in this whole process? He is trying to change the whole concept of Indian politics. Well, that’s quite a clever and macho step Mr Kejriwal, but who is really going to benefit from it?

He had put the entire city of Delhi at a halt for two whole days and after taking such a drastic step, he tried to apologise but what was the point of it when it had already created so much inconvenience to the people who were so frustrated and disoriented.

He seems to have so much aspiration for the country but his ways of going about with them have no direction at all. Oh yes!! He had contributed to the enactment of the Right to Information Act and being the master behind the Lokpal Bill shows that he has done some good for the country, but it cannot just stop there. It has to continue and how is that going to happen, by having some victory over calling off his “Dharna”?
He is going to lose the support of his people if he does not wake up in time and come up with more realistic and effective ways of combatting these kinds of issues.

He had mentioned in an interview recently that the media played absolutely no role in his success in the recent Delhi elections. What is he trying to say?! Does he think it is that easy to win the hearts of so many who are only attached to the media from the time they get up to the time they hit the sack? He is not interested in giving credit to anyone but himself and I doubt such a person will ever make it to the top. He is not experienced and how does one achieve something without any kind of exposure to the real world?

He has also made remarks such as “How can Mr Shinde sleep at night when women are unsafe?” By making this statement is he really conscience about the current situation of the people or is this just another way of grabbing attention to get some extra votes in the upcoming elections?  Does he ever realize that he should stand up and take accountability for his doings too?
He is noted for his simple-tin ways of life and it seems like the capital was waiting for someone like him to come along and change that whole VIP lifestyle prevalent there. But he must understand that everything takes time and he cannot be in such a rush like he always is in trying to bring about amends.

With the 2014 general elections just around the corner, Mr Kejriwal has to note that he may be the Chief Minister of the country’s capital but being the Prime Minister is a whole new ball game. It is just not taking care of the priorities of a certain section of people but an entire nation.  So is he ready for this challenge?
The other big factor coming in his way is the BJP Prime Minister Nominee Mr Narendra Modi who has nothing much to impress the public about but he has been around for a while and seems to be catching people’s attention by fooling them with his campaigns. He is trying to get all the support he can from the youth who play a very crucial role in this year’s elections.

Mr Kejriwal has shown great determination and strong will in the past. But who knows how far that will take him. He has to learn to take charge of things not just for the fancy title but by focussing on the welfare of the people.

Just as he mentioned earlier, that the security of the people in Delhi was left with God, I’m sure he cannot expect the same for our country's future.
The Aam Aadmi Party has definitely brought about enthusiasm and made people more involved with the current politics of the country but they have to start getting their act together before they make a mockery of what they preach.

If they want to fight in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, their first step should be trying to prove themselves noble and trustworthy in the eyes of the people in Delhi.
We are all completely fascinated by our thoughts as they have made us believe in their confidence of making our nation free from all kind of corruption but the biggest joke will be when they cannot make this happen.

Now his only hope is whether the country is willing to give him yet another chance to be something bigger and hopefully that little broom of his will be able to clean up all the mess created before it becomes too late!
