"People told me from the moment I gently opened my glittering eyes while entering into this world that I was going to be the next Miss India."
Sometimes I actually do wish it was that easy for these girls who have dreamt all their lives to be just that.
The lengths they have to go through to prove to themselves and the rest of the world what they are and who they can be is totally insane.
They work their butts off day and night to be on top but surely enjoy every bit of it too.
It is extremely nerve-racking for the family and friends around them as they have to be huge support systems to reduce the stress and tension and encourage them to push themselves harder to greater heights.
The Miss India is a national pageant which takes place every year where the so-called "beautiful" girls from all across the country compete for that one and only- most stunning crown. The winner represents the country at Miss World, the first runner-up at Miss Earth and the second runner-up at Miss Supranational.
Most often, it is mislead that you have to either have beauty or brains to reach somewhere in this world but for these girls, the competition is so very intense that they have to be the jack-of-all-trades to even stand a chance anywhere in the battle.
Beauty is often referred to as being skin deep. It just means the outer appearance of an individual. What this pageant is looking for is, true beauty and that is brought out through only what they believe in.
All their ever so appealing features will not get them anywhere if they do not have that one thing that makes them stand out from the rest.
Confidence is something that will take every individual far, far ahead in the pageant. There is so much to compete with that it makes it all the more advantageous for those who have it in them.
They are grilled through many sessions by various eminent folks so that they have a better chance at clinching that title.
They also have to prove that they have all it takes to be the Next Niss India by supporting various causes and having their own organizations.
Giving back to the world!
Apart from that, they also have to be attractive enough for people to see who they are so they have to take extra care of their hair, skin and fitness. It is these last few months that have been so crucial for them that have taught them the most in life.
To get inspired and be inspired by every contestant is extremely important and acts as a plus point for each other. Learning to deal with those bitchy girls for that long a period can be a real pain in the ass but that is something that comes with the entire package.
The one who has that perfect smile is definitely the go-getter in this fight. It captures everything about the entire personality.
Being able to hold yourself and knowing how to put yourself out there is an art that has to be learnt.
And once you've got the crown on your head, it just doesn't end there...
Today it seems that this is the easiest way to get a ticket into the world of Bollywood.
Your life has just begun!!!!
So remember it's not just about the glitz and glamour but there is also another side to it altogether and hopefully it is one which benefits them.
With less than a few hours to goooo, I wish all the wanna-be beauty queens the very best of luck and may the best be the one who is that Next Miss India!
Also, don't forget to catch the telecast on Sunday the 13th, at 7 pm on Colors.
