Airlines, Please stay with us forever and ever!

It's not even been a few days since I'm back home after almost three months again and come to hear that the fate of yet another old hangout lies in the hands of God.
It goes down the memory lane, 46 years ago when Mr SNS Rao had run away from his home which was part of a tiny village near Mangalore as he wanted to make something out of his life and never in his wildest dreams had he thought it would turn out to be something we call today, The Airlines Hotel or more commonly just "Airlines"
He started off his career as a waiter in a small town tiffin center and from there he made history setting up Bangalore's first ever drive-in restaurant.
It became such a craze especially among the school and college going children and then slowly was able to catch the attention of all ages.
It is extremely heart-rending to come to terms with it being on the verge to shut down. It was an instruction given by the High Court of Karnataka. Very very sad indeed!
It's got so many memories bottled up over the years gone by and those are some things that can never fade away.
Whether it was an escape from the boring lectures or some after school fun times, you would find heaps of folks hanging around simply doing nothing.
The first time I walked in, there was nothing much that fancied me but over the years it has made me realize what it has brought to my life.
Friendship, laughter and lots and lots of colour.
It was not just a place where one would come to grab a bite or have a drink but is special in its own way to each person.
That's what it has done to us!
Comfort is the first thing on the minds of the employees over there. They go out of their way making sure that you are pleased with all you've asked for and the open air and laid back environment is just simply peaceful.
The hustle and bustle of everyday life is totally forgotten and there are always good times to be cherished at Airlines.
So just because Bangalore is known to be one of those upcoming "foodie" cities in India, getting new places practically every other day, doesn't mean that the old ones which mean the world to us should die out.
Airlines for one, has never been just a place where one goes to have their morning cuppa or share a hot crispy dosa with the bestie but one which treasures the true experiences of many.
Hence we have to fight with all our might and get back Airlines. It has left a footprint on Bangalore's so called "social life" and so we cant let it go just like that.
